Academic Mentoring, situated in Cape Town in the Western Cape Province, offers services that address tertiary educational requirements of students, focusing on critical thinking skills. Its goal is to equip students, academics and academic writers to write successfully and independently. This is achieved through an active learning methodology that provides tools for achieving academic reading, writing and research skills goals set by students and academic institutions.

The services include mentoring from the writing of undergraduate and postgraduate essays and seminars, to reading for, and the writing of, postgraduate degrees up to PhD level.

Mentoring services are available for individuals or large classes, depending on the required assistance. Sessions can be once off, or on a consistent long/short term basis, assisting a class or individuals through an academic writing process, to completion of the work, or a part thereof.

Academic mentoring is also available to academic publishers, working with authors of academic texts. Non-profit or non-governmental organisations requiring mentoring in academic or formal writing processes are also welcome. These services are delivered in a consultative and participative way, with larger groups being run in a workshop style.
